Sam Houston Pkwy E., Houston, TX 77060.Job DescriptionPURPOSE AND SCOPE:The Continuing Education Instructor, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), provides direction, teaching, and support for the Adult Education and Literacy ESOL course objectives and contributes to the educational environment of Lone Star College and the community. Responsibilities include teaching and advising students, developing curriculum, evaluating and supporting adjunct instructors, assessing or modifying current programs, and coordinating other supports system-wide to ensure students are achieving all instructional goals of ESOL pathways within the Adult Education and Literacy Grant.This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Teaches a variety of courses for English for speakers of other languages (ESOL), English for internationally trained professionals, and career preparation courses for ESOL students at a variety of times and locations2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Serves as a subject matter expert to develop curriculum, assess/modify current programs, evaluate and support adjunct instructors, and coordinate other cross-institutional support to ensure students are achieving the goals of the Adult Education and Literacy Grant.
