Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Decision Sciences Department of the Energy and Environment Science and Technology (EES&amp;T) is looking for an Economics Operations Research and Analysis Group Lead. You will spend approximately 20% of your time managing your group and 80% of your time on technical research activities. Our team works onsite with a 9/80 schedule at our Idaho Falls, facility with every other Friday off. Responsibilities <ul><li>Continuously enhance your technical skills to stay current in your field. </li><li>Contribute to research excellence through high impact peer-reviewed publications, software invention disclosures and patents.</li><li>Lead and contribute to proposal writing to acquire funding from various funding offices.</li><li>Use modeling and simulation to address complex problems across multiple different fields.</li><li>Mentor researchers conducting analysis for DOE’s Bioenergy Technologies Office. Work with researchers to maintain and grow their technical capabilities to support that sponsor.</li><li>Actively contribute to diversifying the group’s sponsors to include other DOE or DOD funding offices. </li><li>Perform management responsibilities, including approving timesheets, conducting staff performance reviews, leading group member goal setting and progress monitoring, and supporting staff career development.</li><li>Assist the Department Manager in creating, updating, and implementing a strategy for the group. Assist the Department Manager by overseeing talent development, including recruiting new team members and retaining existing staff, and identifying professional growth opportunities for group members.</li><li>Ensure the work within the group is performed safely, within budget parameters and appropriate scope.</li><li>Maintain the group’s existing technical capability base, identify and build new group capabilities associated with the mission area, and acquire and implement technical programs.</li><li>Demonstrate technical leadership within the group’s area of study/discipline. Perform direct funded research on a topic relevant to the group's capabilities.</li></ul>Qualifications Minimum Requirements:&nbsp; <ul><li>LP3 - Advanced degree in related field with 3 years of relevant experience or PhD and 2 years.</li><li>LP4 - Advanced degree in related field with 6 years of relevant experience or PhD and 4 years.</li><li>A sustained publication record in operations, economics, logistics, or supply chain research is required.</li><li>You have demonstrated leadership capability that promotes an inclusive and diverse work environment allowing the safe performance of work and research.
