Employees work under general supervision, using judgement concerning the method of repair after receiving oral or written orders identifying a problem or need to repair a piece of equipment. A supervisor may test results during the work and/or after work has been completed.&nbsp;Essential Functions &amp; ResponsibilitiesRepairs and overhauls automobiles, trucks, tractors, air compressors, cement mixers and other equipment.Operates various types of motor vehicles. Applies a working knowledge of equipment systems, functions and components.Repairs engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes and all parts of automotive equipment.Checks and balances wheels for proper alignment.Analyzes, troubleshoots and tests alternators, generators and electrical system components on equipment. Position requires frequent travel and/or fieldwork with exposure to roadway traffic.
